Use of thermodynamics for the investigation, prediction, and control of the thermochemical processes in sources of atomization and spectrum excitation

  • 1. Ural'skij Gosudarstvennyj Tekhnicheskij Univ., Ekaterinburg (Russian Federation)

Description

The results of the investigations into the development of methods for and approaches to the thermodynamic description of thermochemical processes in sources of atomization and spectrum excitation (a tungsten spiral atomizer, a graphite furnace flames, and high-frequency torch and arc discharges) were generalized. The results of this work systematize knowledge about the behaviour of various elements (B, Be, Cd, Sr, V, W, Zr, Gd) in the above sources, explain the observed phenomena, are useful in training analytical chemists, and allow the behaviour of elements to be predicted under variable conditions (chemical composition, temperature, and pressure) and optimum modes of analysis to be selected. 66 refs.,
