Prospects for hadron electromagnetic polarizability measurement by radiative scattering on a nuclear target
Description
A Monte Carlo simulation of hadron radiative scattering measurements on nuclei (h+A→h+γ+A) by the Compton-Primakoff process is presented. The reaction with 40 GeV pion is studied and the results are compared with experimental data on carbon. Accuracy on the polarizability parameters expectable from higher energy measurements with currently available secondary beams of negatively or positively charged hadrons is discussed. (orig.)
