Emission of greenhouse gases and acidifying substances 1990-2003
Creators
Description
The carbon dioxide emission has increased from 58 mill. tons in 1990 to 65 mill. tons in 2003. The emission of laughing gas decreased from 35 thousand tons to 26 thousand tons during the period. The emission of methane has increased to 280 thousand tons in 2003. For the acidifying substances sulphur dioxide, ammonia, and nitrogen oxides, a decrease is observed. The emission of sulphur dioxide has decreased from 323 thousand tons in 1990 to 75 thousand tons in 2003. Emission of nitrogen oxides has decreased from 374 thousand tons in 1990 to 304 thousand tons in 2003. The emission of ammonia has decreased from 133 to 101 thousand tons during the same period. (ln)
