Description

These proceedings represent papers presented at the Eighth Beam Instrumentation Workshop hosted by the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory and the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), and held in May, 1998. The Workshop was funded by the United States Department of Energy. A myriad of topics was covered at the Workshop, including all aspects of instrumentation and diagnostics of high energy beams. About a quarter of the participants was from Europe and Asia. Various aspects of beam instrumentation systems including beam injectors, feedback systems, detectors, beam positioning systems, and other monitoring devices were discussed. There were 68 papers presented at the Workshop,out of which 42 have been abstracted for the Energy,Science and Technology database
