Use of the Polhemous 3-SPACE tracker as a tool for radiation therapy

Description
The 3-SPACE system utilizes low-frequency magnetic field technology to determine the spatial coordinates of the sensor position. These fields are not perturbed by polystyrene, polymethylmethacrylate, or body tissues, enabling data to be taken on body surfaces even if not in the line of sight of the source. Conducting materials will distort the field so each environment must be calibrated. Programs to collect and process data for contouring, compensators, and motion studies have been written for an IBM-PC host computer. A Lotus-123 template is used for processing and plotting the motion study data
