Electron linac for the proposed LB injector

  • 1. Tohoku Univ., Sendai (Japan). Lab. of Nuclear Science

Description

This paper describes the preliminary design of a 300 MW (750 MeV x 0.4 A) electron linac which will be used as an injector for the improved dynamic booster. The accelerator consists of 46 approximately constant gradient accelerating structures, each supplied rf power at a frequency of 2856 MHz from klystrons (type TV-2014). The electron beam pulse duration is 3.2 μs and the maximum repetition rate is 250 pps. The electron beam emerging from the accelerator may be used for other purposes in an interleaving method by means of pulsed magnet. (auth.)
