Fast neutrons nuclear reactor in which, at least, a moderator is incorporated in the reactor assemblies
Description
A moderator such as boron carbide enriched in boron 11 is introduced into a fast reactor. This flattens the neutron spectrum so allowing the reduction of void coefficient and increase the Doppler coefficient. The moderator can be mixed homogeneously with the nuclear fuel or other material already present or placed into specific pins distributed amongst the fuel pins in the fuel assemblies. 3 figs
