Quark gluon plasma search from hadron-hadron and heavy ion interactions

  • 1. Duke Univ., Durham, NC (United States). Dept. of Physics

Description

Recent experimental results to search for the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) from hadron-hadron collider experiments and heavy ion experiments from FNAL, BNL and CERN are overviewed. Based on the data from hadron-hadron interactions and heavy ion interactions, the characteristics of pt spectra, and the production properties of pions, kaons protons, antiprotons and hyperons are studied as a function of multiplicity. The multiplicity can be related to the energy density or entropy of the centrally produced matter, since higher energy density implies the larger number of produced particles.
