Description

Enthalpies of the formation of ordered solid intermetallic compounds consisting of M-Po have been calculated using the model of MIEDEMA. The calculated data were compared with known experimental results. The results of the calculations allow to predict the formation of stable polonides of Th, Am, and Pu. In the case of combinations of Po with V, Nb, Ti, or Pd interactions can be expected, however, stable compounds will not be formed. Po does not react with the metals Cr, Ir, Rh
