Tungsten-base alloy material for radiation shielding

Description

An existent tungsten-base alloy material is a sintered material, and tungsten particles contained therein are rounded, and a binder layer containing iron, nickel and copper is filled into the gaps of the particles. As a result, radiation rays leak and scatter passing through the binder layer of a low shielding effect, and the shielding effect was thus insufficient. Then, a layered structure is provided by applying plastic fabrication to a sintered product comprising 85wt% or more of tungsten and the balance of nickel and iron or copper to flatten a binder layer containing tungsten particles and nickel and stacking the flat layers. Tungsten particles are dispersed in the binder layer comprising nickel and iron or copper, but since the tungsten layers and the binder layers are flattened and stacked complicatedly to form a layered structure, an extremely high radiation shielding effect can be provided.
