Radial injection in the Orsay cryogenic cyclotron project

The different problems encountered in matching the tandem emittance are examined. The found solutions or compromises are described for geometric, energetic and -mainly- time structure matching. It leads to definite choices for the terminal stripping, the phase buncher at the exit of the tandem and the proper injection system at the entrance of the cyclotron. Practical consequences are finally given: the tandem cyclotron platform, the chopper and buncher systems, the modifications in the tandem itself, the beam transport and the cyclotron injection systems
