Analysis of 3-dimensional two-phase flow for real-time training simulators with engineering analysis code (BAGIRA)

Description

The results of BAGIRA code for three-dimensional analysis of thermal hydraulic phenomena in nuclear reactors is presented. The code results with applications of drift-flux based closure as well as use of two-velocity model has been compared. The effects of temporal variations on the slip velocity calculation has been studied. The results show that for many transient scenarios a three-dimensional flow becomes dominant in the reactor primary system and for most cases the effects of temporal variations on slip velocity in insignificant
