Quasars in a new light
Description
It has been shown that the emission spectra of various populations of quasars have infrared and x-ray components in addition to radio wavelengths. Astronomers are studying the many prominent emission and absorption lines which are exhibited by quasars in addition to the smooth continuum component. Theoretical models which have recently been proposed to explain these different frequencies and intensities are considered. (UK)
