The effect of cold work on the fatigue behaviour of α-zirconium at elevated temperatures

Description
Controlled amounts of cold work (CW) are commonly used in the fabrication of zirconium alloy reactor components. It is important, therefore, to determine the effects of CW on the mechanical properties of zirconium and its alloys to assess the likely influence on a component's service behaviour. A report is presented on the effects of CW on the fatigue behaviour of crystal bar zirconium to temperatures up to 7000C. (author)
