Description
A programme for H permeation and description studies in He-ion pre-implanted Ni and Mo is presented. Pure metal samples of around 200 μm thickness were homogeneously implanted at room temperature with alpha-particles (0.5 MeV ≤ E ≤ 24 MeV) to concentrations from 30 to 300 ppm in an attempt to simulate at the Bucharest U-120 Cyclotron the behaviour of helium produced in the bulk by fast neutron nuclear reactions in the fusion nuclear reactor (tokamak). In-beam H permeation studies were conducted at the 40 KeV H+-ion LIU accelerator at the Kurchatov Institute in Moscow on He pre-implanted samples. The He-dose dependence of hydrogen permeation is presented. The possibilities for developing a complex programme involving irradiations with helium ions at various temperatures and H, D, T implantations using IFF-KFA Juelich, IFIN-ITIM and TU Muenchen facilities (compact and classic cyclotrons, mass-3 accelerator, gas mass spectrometers) are also discussed.
