Method of producing optical andlor scintillation elements

Description
The initial crystalline material, especially alkaline halogenides is in form of a body or several bodies of arbitrary configuration or parts of the minimum size 1 mm3, translucent with a non-turbid surface. The material is pressed at temperatures from 10 to 250 degC below melting point of crystalline material between two flat or profiled slabs or jaws which determine at least one dimension of the pressed material. In case of pressing in die or ejection moulding space al dimensions are determined. Optimal pressure and pressing time should be determined during pressing. The said method allows better homogeneity of planar sensitivity. (E.S.)
