Research of particle identification models in the HERA-B ring imaging Cherenkov counter

  • 1. DESY, Hamburg (Germany)
  • 2. Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Dubna (Russian Federation)

Description

Method and numerical results of the comparative analysis of two different models for particle identification by RICH in the HERA-B experiment are considered. The momentum dependence of the identification efficiency and misindentification rate of both approaches have been investigated on experimental data using sample of pions from KS0→π+- decays. Additionally, tracks detected by the MUON system with high values of the muon hypothesis likelihood are used for this study
