Frequency distributions of activity concentrations after accidential releases of radionuclides
Description
The increasing application of risk assessments for nuclear installations in decision making procedures also requires to analyse intermediate results of accident consequence calculations in detail. The activity concentrations to be expected are an important quantity especially to judge the effectiveness and feasibility of technical, administrative and medical emergency actions. For this reason, a modified version of the accident consequence code UFOMOD was developed, which allows to calculate frequency distributions of activity concentrations. In the report, graphical and numerical forms of presentation demonstrating the relationships between frequency, activity concentration, affected areas and the number of persons living there are described and discussed. This is done exemplarily using the results of accident consequence calculations for the nuclides I-131 and Cs-137 based on the release category FK2 of the ''German Risk Study''. (orig./HP)

Die zunehmende Anwendung von Risikoabschaetzungen fuer kerntechnische Anlagen zur Entscheidungsfindung macht es notwendig, auch Zwischenergebnisse von Unfallfolgenrechnungen ausfuehrlich zu analysieren. Die zu erwartenden Aktivitaetskonzentrationen sind eine wichtige Bezugsgroesse vor allem zur Beurteilung der Wirksamkeit und Durchfuehrbarkeit technischer, administrativer und medizinischer Schutz- und Gegenmassnahmen. Aus diesem Grund wurde eine modifizierte Version des Unfallfolgenmodells UFOMOD erstellt, die es erlaubt, Haeufigkeitsverteilungen von Aktivitaetskonzentrationen auszuweisen. Im Bericht werden graphische und numerische Darstellungsmoeglichkeiten zur Veranschaulichung des Zusammenhangs von Haeufigkeit, Aktivitaetskonzentration, betroffenen Flaechen und dort lebende Anzahl von Personen vorgestellt und diskutiert. Hierzu werden die Ergebnisse von Unfallfolgenrechnungen fuer die Freisetzungskategorie FK2 der ''Deutschen Risikostudie Kernkraftwerke'' exemplarisch fuer die Radionuklide I-131 und Cs-137 herangezogen.
