High voltage pulse circuit for X-rays tube grid control

Description

This work deals with a high voltage pulse circuit for X-rays tube grid control. An alternating current is provided to a charging circuit. The charging circuit provides an electrical charge to an output transformer. The output of the transformer is connected across a diode bridge. Each side of the bridge has two diodes connected in series. The output from the diode bridge passes to a capacitance charging a capacitor for the required time interval at a high voltage. A Zener diode regulates the high voltage and dissipates surplus energy. Output from the capacitance is passed to the X-ray tube grid. This circuit provides short high voltage and can then be used in X-ray machines for cardio-vascular examinations. (authors). 6 figs
