Nature of polarographic wave of manganese (2) ions on indium cathode

Description

The method of taking differential oscillographic polarograms is employed to study the behaviour of manganese (2) ions on the solid indium cathode in solutions containing ammonium ions. Based on the identification of the cathode process products, quantitative estimation of the peak currents and the established number of electrons participating in the process of reduction, an equation of the electrode reaction is proposed. It is shown that the discharge of the hydrated Mn2+ ions on the active part of the indium cathode is accompanied by the liberation of hydrogen by the secondary mechanism
