Description
Some of the wide variety of ion-atom collision processes relevant to heating, modelling and diagnostics of Tokamak plasmas are considered. In particular, results of recent experimental measurements on selected processes involving charge transfer and excitation (based on translational energy spectroscopy and photon emission spectroscopy) are discussed in relation to theoretical predictions. copyright 1996 American Institute of Physics
