ARCEBS-2023. Application of RadiotraCers and Energetic Beams in Sciences (ARCEBS)

Complete text of publications follows. The international conference on Application of RadiotraCers and Energetic Beams in Sciences, popularly known as RCEBS, is a quadrennial event. The first, second, third and fourth ARCEBS were held in 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018, respectively. The COVID pandemic pushed the fifth ARCEBS just a few days from its schedule in 2022 and was held from January 31–February 05, 2023, at Kushal Palli, Purulia at the aegis of Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University (SKBU), Purulia, in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The ARCEBS-2023 was inaugurated with the drums of the tribal Purulia on the first day, i.e., on January 31, 2023, after which the conference was shifted to Kushal Palli, Purulia. More than a hundred delegates from India and abroad attended ARCEBS 2023. Though most of the presentations were delivered in person, some of the international speakers also delivered their talks in online mode. The series of ARCEBS conferences has become a known multi-disciplinary platform for young minds, who could showcase their research and innovations. The spectra this time included a mix of researchers from various disciplines like radioisotope production, nuclear data, application of radiotracers in chemical sciences, application of radiotracers in biological sciences including agriculture, environmental radioactivity, RIB and its applications, superheavy element research, nanotechnology in radiopharmaceuticals, accelerator mass spectrometry, liquid scintillation spectrometry and its applications, radio-green chemistry from the leading institutions like BARC, CERN, GSI, IAEA, INFN, JAEA, RIKEN, TU Delft, University of Mainz, VECC, etc. We thank all the members of the International Advisory Committee and National Organizing Committee for their valuable and constructive suggestions for organizing the conference. We thank Professor Dipak K. Kar, former Vice-Chancellor of Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University (SKBU) for extending permission to host this prestigious conference at SKBU. We are grateful to Dr. Najat Mokhtar, Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, for extending the IAEA cooperation to ARCEBS 2023. We acknowledge the financial support from the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India. We thank Professor Zsolt Revay, Editor-in-Chief and Professor Amares Chatt, Associate Editor, Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry (JRNC) for their support in bringing out this special issue with the selected paper of ARCEBS-2023. The success of the conference depends on its technical content. ARCEBS series of conferences is known all over the world for its high standards. Experts in different fields from all over the globe helped us by reviewing the extended abstracts and full papers for this selected issue of JRNC. We are thankful to them.
