Theory and experiment on SmB6
Description
Experiments and theory on SmB6 are reviewed critically. Then new experimental results for Sm/sub 1-x/V/sub x/B6 with vacancies V, 0 < x < 1/3, are shown. A model in which 4f hole states of Sm are described by an extended Hubbard model with collective spin fluctuation modes is proposed. The theory explains nearly all the anomalous properties self-consistently. 4 figures, 1 table
