The widths of the E2(ΔT = 0 and ΔT = 1) giant resonances in 165Ho

Description
Inelastic electron scattering confirms broadening of the isoscalar (ΔT = 0) E2 giant resonance in 165Ho as compared to spherical nuclei. Discrepancies in magnitude between results of other experiments are reconciled. The isovector (ΔT = 1) E2 giant resonance is, for the first time, observed to be split into at least two parts. (orig.)

Die Verbreiterung der isoskalaren (ΔT = 0) E2-Riesenresonanz in 165Ho gegenueber kugelfoermigen Kernen wird durch inelastische Elektronenstreuung bestaetigt. Groessenunterschiede zwischen den Ergebnissen anderer Experimente werden aufgeklaert. Erstmals wird beobachtet, dass die isovektorielle (ΔT = 1) E2-Riesenresonanz in mindestens zwei Teile aufgespalten ist. (orig.)Additional details
