Description
Extreme waves along coastal areas cause damage to the life and physical infrastructure. The east coast of India is frequently prone to tropical cyclones (TCs) in the post monsoon season and strong winds in these events generate extreme waves. Monitoring and predicting the extreme waves is important along the east coast where many nuclear facilities are located. So the prediction of these high waves is essential to mitigate the adverse effects of TCs. In this study we are using an atmosphere-wave coupled model (Advanced Research WRF-Simulating Waves Near Shore: ARW-SWAN) to simulate the wave height near to Kalpakkam coast
