Influence of the loading factor on the performance characteristics of series MHD generators

Description

This article investigates the operation of generators with partial loads ranging from the open-circuit to the short-circuit regime. A plane model of a duct with shorted segmented electrodes and various arrangements of rectilinear modules in the entry section, is investigated. Three duct configurations are studied, which differ in commutation angle of the electrode in the transition section. Volt-ampere characteristics of the end sections of the ducts are also studied. 1 ref
