The dynamics of open clusters

Creators

  • 1. California Univ., Berkeley (USA)

Description

Both in theory and in observation open clusters are poorly understood, either in comparison with globular clusters or on an absolute basis. The dynamical difficulties for open clusters are best understood by contrasting them with globular clusters, where we have a reasonably good understanding, and seeing what it is that makes the globular clusters easy and the open clusters difficult.
