Instability of an electron beam with bounded cross section in a hot isotropic plasma

Description

Instability of strip electron beam in hot isotropic plasma is investigated under conditions corresponding to those of a significant effect of excited plasma wave radiation in the transverse direction on its development. It is shown that in this case the dependence of a maximum increment on system parameters is of a different nature as compared to the case when transverse radiation of plasma waves is neglegible. The results of the investigation allow to speak about instability of a limited electron beam in a hot isotropic plasma of a new radiant type
