Description
With the advent and advances in the use of nuclear technology for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes has emerged a major concern related to the detection and assessment of radiation dose for control of dose levels and environmental staff. Obtaining these parameters is essential to ensure the radiation safety of the population, both workers (occupational/y exposed individuals), as patients and individuals from the public. The main objective of dosimetry in radiotherapy, since the appearance of this treatment modality, was to determine, with the greatest possible precision and accuracy, the absorbed dose to the target volume through the calibration of the radiation beam and dosimetry for routine quality control of both the machine as therapy treatments proposed. This work aimed to study the comparative response of thermoluminescent dosimeters of calcium sulphate doped with dysprosium (CaS04: Dy) produced by IPEN with the response of dosimeters of lithium fluoride doped with magnesium and titanium (LiF:Mg, Ti) in dosimetry of clinical electron beams (6 MeV) using solid water phantom (RMI-457).
