Direct production of muons in the forward direction by 300-GeV protons on uranium
Description
An experiment is described having for its purpose the answer to the question of whether the μ/π ratio, measured to be about 10-4, is compatible with the idea that the muons are decay products of massive mesons. Proton reactions with uranium were used as a production means
