Separation of sigmasub(L) and sigmasub(T) in eta-electroproduction at the resonance S11(1535)
Description
The ratio R = sigmasub(L)/sigmasub(T) of longitudinal and transverse cross sections for the reaction ep → epeta at the resonance S11(1535) was measured at momentum transfers q2 = 0.6 and 1 GeV2. The transverse part dominates the longitudinal part of the cross section. Averaging from W = 1.49 GeV to W = 1.58 GeV we obtain R = 0.15 +- 0.18 at q2 = 0.6 GeV2 and R = -0.06 +- 0.16 at q2 = 1 GeV2. Fuer die Reaktion ep → epeta wurde bei der Resonanz S11(1535) das Verhaeltnis R = sigmasub(L)/sigmasub(T) der longitudinalen und transversalen Wirkungsquerschnitte bei Inpulsuebertraegen q2 = 0,6 und 1 GeV2 gemessen. Der transversale Anteil ueberwiegt den longitudinalen Anteil des Wirkungsquerschnitts. Wenn wir von W = 1,49 GeV mitteln, erhalten wir R = 0,15 +- 0,18 bei q2 = 0,6 GeV2 und R = - 0,06 +- 0,16 bei q2 = 1 GeV2. (orig.)
