Structure and strength characteristics of nickel-molybdenum solid solution single crystals

  • 1. Tsentral'nyj Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Chernoj Metallurgii, Moscow (USSR). Inst. Metallovedeniya i Fiziki Metallov

Description

The structure and strength characteristics of the Ni-Mo (containing 5.8-21.2 at. % Mo) alloys monocrystals have been studied. All the alloys have been researched in the quenched condition. The dislocation structure of the deformed alloys has been studied on the thin foils. It is established that the deformation strengthening mode is analogous for all the alloys. Confirmed is the assumption that the near order destruction during the movement of the single dislocations is the basic factor involved in the strengthening of the researched Ni-Mo solid solutions in the 14.2-21.2 at. % Mo concentration region
