Clustering in neutron-rich and stable nuclei

Description

Cluster structures of nuclei are discussed. The subjects we discuss are clustering in neutron-rich Be and B isotopes, coexistence of cluster states and superdeformed states in 44Ti, and the equivalence of superdeformation and 16O + 16O molecular structure in 32S. As for the clustering in neutron-rich light isotopes, we discuss the comparison between the AMD results and the recent experimental data, which shows that the clustering feature manifests itself very clearly in neutron-rich Be isotopes both in the ground and excited states. As for the 44Ti structure, we show that the AMD reproduces successfully the coexistence of α + 40Ca cluster structure and superdeformed many-particle many-hole structure. In 32S we give the AMD result which shows that the superdeformed excited band is equivalent to the lowest molecular band of 16O + 16O
