Photonuclear dispersion relation and corrections to the nucleon polarizability in nuclei

Description
It is calculated the correction to the nucleon polarizability due to the one-pion exchange. A sizable reduction ((10-20)%) of the free nucleonic value is found. The consequence on the photoabsorption cross-section in the isobar region is analysed and it is shown to be in agreement with experimental evidence
