The analysis and countermeasure of drug allergy for 131I metuximab injection in treatment of primary hepatic carcinoma

Description
Objective: To explore the drug allergy causes, countermeasures and its effects during 131I Metuximab Injection in treatment of primary hepatic carcinoma. Methods: We collected clinical data of 203 cases of using Iodine [131I] Metuximab Injection in treatment of patients with primary hepatic carcinoma. For patients with drug allergy, we analyzed patient's clinical manifestation, treatment measures, and outcome. Results: Among 203 cases of patients with the use of Iodine [131I] Metuximab Injection, there were 4 patients with drug allergies with the incidence rate 1.68%. For the first treatment, the incidence of allergy was 0.99%, while the second time had the incidence of allergy of 4.17%, and the third time had incidence of allergy 11.1%. One patient had serious adverse reactions to anaphylactic shock. After the active treatment, 4 cases of allergy patients were mostly cured, without having complications, with the clinical cure rate 100%, and the mortality rate 0%. Conclusion: The fast and accurate judgments of patient status, as well as the timely effective treatment can improve the cure rate of allergic reaction. Severe allergic reactions of patients may be associated with repeated use of Iodine [131I] Metuximab Injection. (authors)
