Description

The significance of prophylactic radiotherapy after radical operation for primary lung cancer was analysed by the decision theory. A linear discriminant function was considered to be able to distinguish patients having residual cancer in the postoperative lung field of not. Prophylactic postoperative radiotherapy should be planned when the sign of the discriminant function would be negative. (author)
