Evaluation of radiation dose in mammography by thermoluminescent detectors

Description

The objective of the present work is to evaluate the estimated dose of the radiation that the patients receive when they are submitted to examinations mammographic. For this intention, were used mannequins of breast of varied thicknesses, dosimeters thermoluminescent of fluoride of lithium, mammography and a set of quality control in mammography. the results showed that the above mentioned doses are below the referential values recommended by the international protocols in dosimetry in mammography. Also found that the values estimated by means of dosimetric termoluminiscente present minor differences of 10% on having been compared with the values obtained by other methods, likewise the uncertainties found in the measurements. They are minor to 2%, being this technical this one into a great tool of work into the dosimetry of breast. (Author)
