Preparation of strontium fluoride of high purity including interaction of solides carbonate and NH4F on heating at 2.5-5.0 deg/min rate at 300-350 deg C with subssquent product calcination at 700-800 deg C is described. The amount of NH-4F is taken with 100-110% excess from the stoichiometric one
