Lithuania Country Report. Annex V

Description
This report summarizes the major activities performed during the past five years and represents essential results achieved by the LIT team. In the beginning of the project, two types of geological formations (crystalline rocks and clay formations) for the disposal of the SNF were being analyzed. Moreover, two different types of SNF (BWR SNF and RBMK-1500 SNF) were taken into account. Later in the project, only conceptual models in crystalline rocks and geological disposal of RBMK-1500 SNF were analyzed. The final country report summarizes the research activities, which includes (1) the assessment of radionuclide transport in the near-field region of a spent nuclear fuel (SNF) repository, (2) groundwater flow and radionuclide transport analysis in the far-field region, and (3) numerical modelling of the coupled processes in the near-field region
