Evaluation method of service lifetime of carbon steel pipeline based on corrosion performance

Description
The evaluation of corrosion related degradations and service lifetime of the pipeline systems in nuclear power plant is crucial for the safety. This paper introduces the identification of corrosion products by Moessbauer spectroscopy and the thickness measurement by ultrasonic non-destructive test. The measured data of the pipeline systems is calculated by statistical method to point out its corrosion behavior and the corrosion rate in nuclear power plant. As a consequence, the theoretical service lifetime has been presented for evaluating the safety in the next production circle. (authors)
