Description

The scope of the book was initially the evaluation of the causes for radioactive residuals (production of silver, arsenic, cobalt and bismuth) from the Jachymov mining for scientific research, started by Marie and Pierre Curie. The first institute worldwide for radium research was founded in Vienna. The radium plant was built in Jachymov in was 1906. The book on the Jachymov uranium ore includes detailed information and bibliographic references on the following issues: mining at the Jachymov site; the discovery of radioactive elements in the years 1898-1903, research on radioactivity during 1904 - 1906; trends of research in the time 1907-1910.
