Description
The Karlsruhe Tritium Neutrino Experiment KATRIN has a gaseous tritium source with a continuous tritium inlet of 0.18 Pa·m3/s. This tritium flow has to be reduced by 14 orders in magnitude and the electrons from tritium beta-decay have to be guided adiabatically from the source to the detector by superconducting magnets. This paper gives an overview of the differential pumping section DPS2-F. The main objectives of this magnet cryostat consist in the reduction of the tritium flow rate and the adiabatically guiding of electrons by superconducting magnets. (author)
