Superconducting materials up to now and into the future

  • 1. Stanford Univ., CA

Description

The first portion of the paper is concerned with the range of intrinsic properties: the critical temperatures (T/sub c/), critical fields (H/sub c/), and critical currents (J/sub c/). In the latter part, the fabrication of superconducting materials into composite wires or cables in forms suitable for producing magnets, generators, transmission lines, and some other devices is discussed. Structures concerned with nonpower-related applications such as Josephson junction devices are beyond the present scope
