Interaction of Cr2O3 with ZrO2 stabilized with oxides of rare earths
Description
The authors give the results of an investigation of solid-phase reactions taking place at 1200-16000C in mixtures of chromic oxide and ZrO2 stabilized with various amounts of Y2O3, Nd2O3, and Ce2O3. The mechanism of the reaction of the components of these composite materials consists in formation of rare earth chromites, which is accompanied by a decrease in the stabilizing oxide content of the solid solution with ZrO2, or induces complete destabilization of the latter
