Initial distribution function of the electron and the positive hole in liquid cyclohexane determined by the geminate recombination data and the Smoluchowski equation
Description
The initial rapid decay of the geminate ion pairs in cyclohexane has been measured at room temperature with the aid of extending the time scale of the geminate recombination by adding solutes, which convert the primary highly mobile electron and positive hole to the corresponding low mobile molecular ions. The initial rapid decay of the geminate ion pairs is satisfactorily analyzed by the exponential distribution of the electron and the positive hole with the initial separation of 61 A on the basis of the Smoluchowski equation, although it cannot be analyzed by the delta and gaussian distributions.
