Bone scintigraphy with sup(99m)Tc-MDP

  • 1. Kyushu Univ., Fukuoka (Japan). Faculty of Medicine

Description

On 57 patients, in whom bone metastasis of various cancers was suspected and benign diseases including femur head necrosis were found, bone scintigraphy with sup(99m)Tc-MDP was carried out, and the effectiveness was examined. The labeled rate was remarkably good within prescribed period for use, within 4 hours. On the basis of the bone accumulation rate and the physical half-life, the examination was found to be suitably performed about 3 hours after the injection of RI. Because the background was low, and the clear and fine bone accumulation was drawn in this scintigram, it was a little superior to the scintigram with sup(99m)Tc-DP. No side effects were observed in all the patients. (Kumagai, S.)
