Excitation of plasma waves by electron bunch
Description
Investigation of plasma wave excitation by a charged particle bunch has been carried out. It is shown that the bunch, particle density or transverse dimensions of which increase slowly, in comparison with the plasma period, in the front area and decrease fast in the back one, excites a wake field, which amplitute exceeds considerably the maximum value of the decelerating by the bunch field. The possibility of attenuation of the decelerating field, using field inhomogeneity according to the plasma cross section in a plasma waveguide, is also investigated
