On the state of the radioactive wastes container deposited in the ocean

Description
The article is a summarized survey on the radioactive waste containers sunk in the Atlantic und Pacific ocean investigated by the USA. The object of the investigations was to determine the contamination of the environmental sediment caused by corrosion or mechanical decomposition of the container and leading of the concreted contents (Cs 137, Pu isotope). Further investigations were carried out on the research of the flow behaviour of leaded nuclides. (RB)

Der Artikel ist eine kurzgefasste Uebersicht ueber von den USA untersuchte im Atlantischen und im Pazifischen Ozean versenkte Behaelter mit radioaktivem Abfall. Ziel der Untersuchungen war, die durch Korrosion bzw. mechanische Zerstoerung der Behaelter und Auslaugung des betonisierten Inhalts verursachte Kontamination der Umgebungssedimente zu ermitteln (Cs-137, Pu-Isotope). Weitere Untersuchungen galten der Erforschung des Stroemungsverhaltens ausgelaugter Nuklide. (RB)Additional details
