Description

A great number of micro-tektites were found in core collected from North Pacific. Because abundant micro-tektites are restricted to a 20-30 cm thick zone of core, the authors called this zone as micro-tektite layer. The age of sediments concentrated micro-tektites is from the Pliocene to the Pleistocene epoch
