Description
An experimental program is under way to study the hydraulic behavior of axial vane centrifugal separators of the type used in commercial PWR steam generators. The main quantities measured were separator pressure drop and void fraction distribution, the latter by the gamma attenuation technique. The results show that, for a given water flow, the liquid layer adjacent to the wall thickens as the air flow rate is lowered. That is to be expected since the reentrainment rate increases with gas flow
